Counseling Services
Most of us can benefit from counseling at some point in our lives.
From dealing with the pressures of everyday life to more severe
problems, such as depression, Child & Family Services can help with
Outpatient Counseling. We offer:
- Individual and family counseling
- Anger management groups for teens and adults
- Play therapy for younger children
- Marriage counseling
- Counseling to address school behavior problems
Support from the United Way of South Hampton Roads lets us set
fees based on income and family size. We also accept selected
insurance plans. Evening hours are available.

For children and adolescents who are at-risk of being removed from
their homes, and for those who are transitioning back to their
homes, Child & Family Services provides community-based counseling,
or In-Home Services. Such children could include:
- Court-involved adolescents
- Children who have been hospitalized for mental health issues
- Kids with extreme behavior problems
- Youth who are abusing drugs or alcohol
Working in collaboration with the courts, schools, social
services and other private providers, our In-Home clinical staff
uses a holistic approach in counseling the families during this
difficult time.
For less intensive support, our Behavior Aides provide mentoring
services to assist children and adolescents with such skills as
solving problems, resolving conflicts, interacting with their peers,
managing their anger and other daily living activities.
