For Those With Disabilities
Each summer, children and adults with disabilities, age five and
over, take a fun-filled break at Camp Horizon. Our dedicated
counselors work with campers on an individual basis using a
curriculum that is focused on therapeutic recreation and education.
Everyone swims, participates in rainy-day activities, joins in games
and visits places of interest in the community. No one is left
behind!
In addition to having fun, camp is also about making friends. Many
of our campers return each summer, renewing friendships that can
last a lifetime. Camp Horizon is open June through August.
Participants may attend day or overnight camp for a week or more.

Living as part of a family gives people with special needs the
chance to explore their own interests, become active in their
community and maximize their potential for independent living.
Through our Family Life program, individuals with mental retardation
live with families in a private home, rather than in a group home or
an institution.
Family Life providers receive training in independent living skills
and personal assistance, based on the individual’s specific needs.
If you would like to help individuals with mental retardation live
more independently and become involved in their community, please
let us know. Family Life providers are paid for providing this
valuable service.

would like to refer an individual to our Family Life program or if
you are interested in becoming a Family Life Home.
